IMAP Mail-how to setup IMAP in mailing

Use email programs such as Gmail, Outlook, or Mozilla Thunderbird in collaboration with your other Email services. You can access the account on both mobile devices and web browsers. The IMAP Mail settings make sure that you access the mail in all platforms. It also is necessary to configure the SMTP ( Simple Mail Transport Protocol) settings to send an email using the account. IMAP(Internet Messaging Access Protocol) is responsible for the reception of messages while SMTP governs the sending of messages.

Google IMAP

If you want to receive Gmail via a separate client and receive all the emails in a single Inbox, you need to configure the Google IMAP settings so that the email client is informed where and how to retrieve Gmail messages.

IMAP settings for the Incoming Mail:

• Step 1:
  Type imap.gmail.com at the server address category.
• Step 2:
  Enter the mail username and password.
• Step 3:
  Set the IMAP port to 993 and SSL as Yes.

SMTP settings for Outgoing Mail:

• Step 1:
  Enter the server address as smtp.gmail.com
• Step 2:
  After inputting the address and password, set the port (TLS) to 587.
• Step 3:
  Keep the port (SSL) as 465.

• Step 1:
  Go to SettingsAccountsAdd Account.
• Step 2:
  Press Email and enter your email address.
• Step 3:
  Tap Next.
• Step 4:
  Enter the password and hit Next.
• Step 5:
  Pick IMAP.
• Step 6:
  Configure the income server settings
• Username: email address
• Password: your password
• IMAP Server: mail.com
• Port: 143
• Security type: STARTTLS
• IMAP path prefix: INBOX
• Step 7:
  Fill in the required Outgoing server settings as given below:
• SMTP server: mail.com
• Port: 587
• Security Type: STARTTLS.
• Step 8:
  After changing some general account settings, check the Automatically (Push) button.
• Step 9:
  Press next and complete the setup.
